Pentax 645 digital medium format camera.

Mamiya was the first company with the clever idea to have an all-in-one medium format digital camera. It is more economical to have the sensor built inside the camera rather than perched on the back of the camera as a pod.

Then in early 2005 Pentax showed a concept-car, the Pentax 645 Digital, that is, a digital camera in 645 format that was not yet in production, just an idea. But what a great idea. 18 megapixels is plenty. I hope they select the version with the slanted top, because if your camera is high up on a tripod you can't see the LCD on top of the camera at all.

Since the Pentax 645 Digital medium format camera is not available, we are testing an Imacon Ixpress 528C on a Hasselblad H1. This camera is totally untethered and does NOT require even a laptop computer.

But we wanted to try the 4-shot and 16-shot mode outside on location (photographing abandoned houses in the Missouri Ozarks. So we set up our Mac Titanium laptop to run the 4-shot mode.

FLAAR Reports are available on the Hasselblad H1, Imacon Ixpress, Leaf Valeo, Kodak Pro Back Plus, and several other cameras. All FLAAR reports are shown on www.wide-format-printers.NET
